This one is Owl de los Muertos. The concept for this guy started at work when my co-worker and I were discussing her new tattoo. She said she was getting an owl and that it was for her mother. This led into the fact that in many cultures owls have meanings. I found out ancient Central Americans believed that the owl was a symbol of death and decided it would be cool to create a barn owl with Dia de los Muertos-esque makeup. He turned out quite nice and I'm really enjoying this graphic style. I would also like to include more Dia de los Muertos in my work. This piece was made in Photoshop CS5 using the pen tool and is completely vector.
